Matabungkay Beach Resort (Lian, Batangas) If you are looking for a weekend beach getaway close to Manila, Matabungkay Beach Resort and Hotel is a worthy choice. It only took two hours to get to this iconic resort. The best part of the car ride is that the roads were very favorable: smooth and well made, plus there were numerous signs to the resort which made sure we found our way.
Best point was the excellent grounds with many mature trees at the end of Matabungkay beach with an extensive beachfront which connected to the main beach. It has the advantage of enjoying the privacy or walking to the main beach.
The sea is clean but has sea grass beds which we enjoyed exploring and is very shallow but if you wish to swim there are two clean pools, the small one with a slide.
